This cis, middle class, educated, white girl on my newsfeed announced that she is both a Christian and supports same-sex marriage and people are now telling her how brave she is.
I see your point, but I think it’s an important statement for both Christian and/or privileged people to make and for others to recognize it. Calling someone brave isn’t automatically disregarding other people’s courage. Despite what the tumblr bubble would like to believe, most of the world still considers the concept of same-sex couples dubious at best, and in my opinion any act for normalizing it is worth some kind of praise.
